About Us

Company History

Clara Industrial Services Limited expanded from modest beginnings, when founder, Danny Clara, started Clara Painting in 1964.  Beginning as a housepainter, Danny grew his business with a focus on quality and integrity, aggressively pursuing work along with Jim Piper his business partner.  By 1977 Clara Painting became Clara Industrial Services Limited, as the firm branched out into Industrial Painting at the many heavy primary industry markets around Thunder Bay – grain terminals, mines, paper mills, hydro-electric dams, municipal water and wastewater treatment and highway bridge restoration.

With that growth, the company added to its service package by including High Pressure Waterblast Equipment and mobile Industrial Vacuum Loaders to support those same industries, growing this side of the business along with the painting until Clara Industrial became the regions premier contractor for Industrial Painting as well as Water Blast and Vacuum services.

Further expansion led to offices in Vancouver and Seattle, as well as the successful completion of major projects in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Newfoundland, Washington State, Illinois, New York and Alaska.

Now focused principally in Northern Ontario, Clara Industrial has continued its tradition of expansion and technological development, growing the service segment of our business with the addition of Hydro-Excavation Vacuum equipment, updated Water Blast Pumps and tooling as well as an expansion
